Our EAR WAX REMOVAL Treatments

Manual Extraction

Manual extraction involves the use of tool to gently remove the earwax from the ear canal. Our specialist will use a magnifying glass and a light to see inside the ear and locate the earwax blockage. This method is best for the removal of smaller amounts of ear wax.

To make your treatment as effective as possible it is recommended to oil your ears 3-5 days before your appointment. If you have any questions, please contact us on 01332 806 105 ahead of your appointment.

After the procedure there is a risk of developing an ear infection if aftercare is not followed. Therefore, it is important to keep your ears clean and dry for at least 48 hours post procedure.

Irrigation (Ear Syringing)

Water Irrigation is a technique used to clean the ear canal by flushing it with water. The water is usually warmed to match body temperature to prevent discomfort. The ear specialist will gently spray water into the ear canal and may repeat the process multiple times depending on the amount of earwax. This process helps to soften and dislodge the earwax, making it easier to remove. After removing the wax, the specialist will ensure that the ear is properly dried to prevent any infections. This procedure provides relief for hearing problems associated with excessive earwax buildup.

Before you go for an ear wax removal treatment, it is important to oil your ears ideally 3-5 days before your appointment. This helps to soften the wax in preparation and make the treatment much more effective. If you have any questions, please contact us on 01332 806 105 ahead of your appointment.

Microsuction

Microsuction is a highly effective and clean ear wax removal treatment, especially for those who have had ear issues in the past such as perforated ear drums. During the procedure, a small tube connected to a suction-generating machine is carefully inserted into the ear canal while our specialist uses a microscope for precision.

To prepare for the treatment, it’s essential to oil your ears 3-5 days prior to your appointment. This softens the ear wax and makes the procedure more effective. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 01332 806 105 before your appointment.

The process can take anywhere between 5 and 20 minutes depending on the amount of wax present and the position. Following the procedure, we will check the ear canal once again to ensure it is clear and healthy.
